SUNY Broome cancels indoor winter sports

Dickinson, N.Y. - The SUNY Broome Volleyball team are on their way to the National Tournament in Minnesota after winning the regional championship for the first time since 1984. The last time the program won Nationals? Never. This year's team consists of just nine players. Nine players that have rallied around each other and formed a very special bond throughout the season.  

The SUNY Broome Hornets Men's soccer squad came out stinging the Corning Community College Red Barons, Wednesday evening, knocking in goal after goal in the first opening minutes to put the game out of reach early at SUNY Broome, 10-1.

For 9 years, Hockey 4 Hope (H4H) has entertained and provided financial relief for families, friends, and anyone who's lives have been touched by cancer.

The SUNY Broome Hornets' men (3-7 Conf.) fell to Cayuga Community College (8-1) at home, Saturday, after giving up the lead in the second half, 81-69.

SUNY Broome men's basketball (4-14) held onto a 31-29 lead after the half, against Hudson Valley Community College (7-12), but couldn't close out the Vikings 70-65 victory at the Baldwin Gym.

SUNY Broome Hornets split a double header with Jefferson Community College Cannoneers, Saturday, competing in the National Junior Collegiate Athletic Association (NJCAA) at the Baldwin Gym.

Two local college basketball teams met on the hardwood, Saturday, one searching for their seventh win and the other, their third, both wanting bragging rights.

For the second week, SUNY Broome Hornets' men and women basketball teams have fallen to visiting opponents. 

Both the men and women SUNY Broome Hornets fell to the visiting Fulton Montgomery Raiders, Sunday.
