A Spencer man is charged after a stabbing leaves one injured and a separate domestic incident over the weekend in the town of Tioga.

According to New York State Police, a few minutes after 10 p.m. on the evening of February 1st, state police and county sheriff's deputies responded to 1498 Halsey Valley Road for a dispute that had resulted in a stabbing. When they arrived, police say 25-year-old Izac J. Hammond was arrested and charged with Assault in the 2nd degree.

An investigation revealed that Hammond had been involved in a domestic dispute with a different victim at the same address just prior to the stabbing, according to state police. He is accused of getting into a physical altercation with a female victim and prevented the victim from leaving the residence while in the presence of a child.

Police say Hammond was additionally charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Criminal Mischief in the 4th degree. Hammond was processed, arraigned, and remanded to county jail on $25,000 cash or $50,000 bond.

According to state police, the male stabbing victim was located on Gilkie Hill Road with a stab wound to the abdomen. He was taken to Robert Packer Hospital and is expected to survive his injuries.
