Binghamton Teen Sentenced on Weapon Charge After 2024 Traffic Stop

A Binghamton teenager has been sentenced to state prison on a weapon charge.
According to the Broome County District Attorney, 18-year-old Namique McBride was sentenced to eight years in prison and five years of post-release supervision on the charge of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd degree.
In May 2024, a vehicle that was reported stolen was stopped by members of the Binghamton Police Department and the Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force. McBride was a passenger in the vehicle at the time. He fled on foot, leading police on a short chase.
McBride was caught near State Street. He was found with a loaded ghost gun in his waistband while he was being arrested.
