Johnson City Police say half a dozen people are arrested and charged after an investigation into a theft scheme at a local retailer.

According to police, the group worked together to steal nearly $80,000 in merchandise from the store by facilitating large and unauthorized discounts of store merchandise. The discounts were frequently around 99 percent.

Some of the people involved were employees of the store. The thefts began in November 2024 and increased greatly in frequency into January 2025, according to police. Police were able to work with investigators from the company to determine the identities, and then conducted surveillance, during which they were able to observe several of the transactions in progress.

Search warrants on vehicles and residences led to tens of thousands of dollars in merchandise being recovered.

Below is a list of the six people arrested and their charges:

  • Alexzeya Brooks: Enterprise Corruption, numerous counts of Grand Larceny in the 4th degree, Falsifying Business Records
  • Andre Forbes: Enterprise Corruption, numerous counts of Grand Larceny in the 4th degree, Falsifying Business Records
  • Damani Mizell: Enterprise Corruption, numerous counts of Grand Larceny in the 4th degree. Mizell was also found to be on probation for Grand Larceny, and a probation violation was also filed.
  • Lytiek Gadson: Enterprise Corruption, numerous counts of Grand Larceny in the 4th degree
  • Jaylen Sandiford: Grand Larceny in the 4th degree
  • Orion Sandy: Petit Larceny
