Sidney Man Faces Weapon, Drug Charges in 4-Count Indictment

A Sidney man has been indicted on weapon and drug charges.
According to the Delaware County District Attorney, Michael C. Thiel is charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd and 3rd degrees, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree, and Criminal Nuisance in the 1st degree.
Thiel is accused of possessing a 9mm pistol with the intent to use it unlawfully against another person. If he is convicted, he faces up to 15 years in prison and five years of post-release supervision.
He's also accused of possessing methamphetamine in Sidney in October 2024 and intending to sell it. Finally, he's accused of maintaining a premises in Sidney where people would gather to engage in the unlawful sale of narcotics.
