Officials tell a Fox40 News crew that the call came in around 11:50 of a two-alarm house fire and that cones have been set up near Route 11 and Meadow Lane.

Broome County Sheriff's deputies and members of the Department of Transpiration are assisting with traffic.

Five Mile Point firefighters received the initial call and Kirkwood Volunteer Fire and Great Bend Fire Departments also responded.

According to 5 Mile Point Fire Department Assistant Chief Nick Griswold, crews found heavy fire and smoke throughout the house when they arrived. They had to deal with cold temperatures and issues with the hydrants while fighting the blaze. No one was home at the time and there were no injuries. The home is a total loss and the residents are being assisted by the Red Cross.
