Two Charged After Greene CSD Student Attacked on School Bus
Two people have been arrested in connection with an investigation into child abuse in the Greene Central School District.
According to the Delaware County Sheriff's Office, Karen M. Bryant and Nancy C. Nowalk, both of Greene, were arrested and charged. The office says it was contacted by the school district on January 13th with information that a student had been physically attacked by a Greene Central School employee on January 8th while on a school bus.
An investigation determined that Bryant had struck a nine-year-old female student multiple times. The office says video recordings from inside the bus confirmed this to deputies. Nowalk, who was the bus monitor, witnessed the incident and did not report it to authorities.
Bryant was charged with one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child and one count of Harassment in the 2nd degree. Nowalk was charged with one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
Both were released on appearance tickets and will appear in court at a later date to answer the charges.
