100 Years Ago: January 22, 2025
100 years ago today, a professor from the University of Chicago is one of the astronomers who has come to this city to observe the total eclipse of the sun this Saturday. Binghamton is in the direct path of the eclipse, and he plans to photograph it from the top of the Security Mutual building.
According to Binghamton’s meteorologist, there’s a good chance the sky will be overcast during the eclipse.
The Special Cancer Hospital known as the Kilmer Memorial Sanitarium, opened just one year ago and since then has been visited by thousands of people from around the country. The Sanitarium is located in a beautiful little valley just above the Village of Sanitaria Springs.
Finally, the proprietor of a store at 200 Oak Hill Avenue in Endicott was a victim of highway robbery last night. After closing the store he was held up at gunpoint and robbed.
