The Binghamton Special Investigations Unit launched an investigation at a Binghamton location, 2 Mitchell Avenue. 

On January 17, authorities say they were conducting surveillance at the location when they noticed suspicious activity at the bodega portion of the building. 

After a search, investigators located the following items:

•Approximately 650 packs of untaxed cigarettes

•Over 5 ounces of concentrated THC

•Approximately 20 grams of psilocybin vapes

•$2,260 U.S. currency

As a result, police arrested 64-year-old Syed A.H. Rizvi on the following charges:

•Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree 

•Criminal Possession of Cannabis 3rd degree 

•Criminal Tax Fraud 5th degree 

•Possession/Transport for Sale Unstamped/Unlawfully Stamped Cigarettes
