2025 National Baseball Hall of Fame Class Announced

The 2025 class of the National Baseball Hall of Fame was announced Tuesday night.
Ichiro Suzuki, CC Sabathia, and Billy Wagner have been elected this year. They join Dick Allen and Dave Parker, who were selected to the Hall of Fame by the Classic Era Committee in December 2024. The 2025 Induction Ceremony will take place on July 27 in Cooperstown.
According to the National Baseball Hall of Fame, The only other players to gain mention on more than half the ballots were outfielders Carlos Beltrán with 277 votes (70.3%) and Andruw Jones with 261 (66.2%). A player must receive 75% of the vote to be elected.
Ichiro Suzuki
Ichiro Suzuki began his professional baseball career in Japan before making his MLB debut in 2001. He played 19 years in Major League Baseball, spending 14 seasons with the Seattle Mariners. Suzuki won the American League MVP and Rookie of the Year awards during his debut season in 2001. He was a 10-time All-Star and 10-time Gold Glove award winner. Suzuki finished his MLB career with 3,089 hits and a .311 lifetime batting average. He set the MLB single-season record for hits with 262 in 2004. Suzuki recorded 200 or more hits in a MLB season ten times. 2025 was his first year on the National Baseball Hall of Fame ballot.
CC Sabathia
Sabathia is one of the most dominant left-handed starting pitchers in MLB history. He pitched 19 seasons, spending the majority of his time with the Cleveland Indians and New York Yankees. Sabathia posted 3,093 career strikeouts to go along with 251 wins. He was a six-time All-Star and won the American League Cy Young Award in 2007. Sabathia helped the Yankees win the 2009 World Series. 2025 was his first year on the National Baseball Hall of Fame ballot.
Billy Wagner
Wagner is considered one of the most dynamic relief pitchers in the history of Major League Baseball. The lefty pitched for five teams across sixteen years, including four seasons with the New York Mets. Wagner made 853 appearances with all of them coming in relief. He logged 422 saves, which ranks 8th all-time. Wagner was a seven-time All-Star with a 2.31 ERA and 0.99 career WHIP. 2025 was his final year on the National Baseball Hall of Fame ballot.
Dick Allen (Classic Era Committee)
Allen played for five teams across a 15-year MLB career, spending nine seasons with the Philadelphia Phillies. He claimed an MVP award in 1972 when he blasted 37 home runs and tallied 113 RBI. Allen was a seven-time All-Star and was named Rookie of the Year in 1964. He finished his career with 351 home runs and a .912 OPS. Allen was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame by the Classic Era Committee in December 2024.
Dave Parker (Classic Era Committee)
Parker played 19 years in MLB for six different teams, spending 11 seasons with the Pittsburgh Pirates. He was named MVP in 1978 when he logged a .334 batting average, 30 home runs, and 117 RBI. Parker was a seven-time All-Star, two-time batting champion, and finished his career with 339 home runs. Parker was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame by the Classic Era Committee in December 2024.
