The Binghamton men's basketball team suffered a heart-breaking loss Friday afternoon.

Niagara defeated the Bearcats, 65-62, in the opening game of the Lafayette Classic in Easton, PA.

Niagara's Jahari Williamson drilled a three-pointer with 0.6 seconds remaining to lift the Purple Eagles to victory. Williamson's heroics came just seconds after Binghamton's Ben Callahan-Gold connected on a three-pointer to tie the contest with 5.3 seconds to play.

Binghamton was led in scoring by Tymu Chenery, who logged 18 points in the loss. Chris Walker scored Binghamton's first 13 points of the game and finished with 16.

The Bearcats drop to 2-6 overall. They return to action Saturday afternoon with a 2 p.m. tip-off against LIU at the Lafayette Classic.
