The Binghamton Writer's Project hosted a creative writing event called 'A Feast of Words' today at the Binghamton University Downtown Center. The event featured a Poetry Workshop followed by an Open Mic & Reception.

The event began with a poetry workshop led by writers Sam Corradetti and Matthew Midgett, who guided participants through a poetry-writing exercise.

In the second half, community members were invited to share poems and short prose during the Open Mic. The event concluded with a raffle and reception.

"The goal of the project is to just get the local community engaged with creative writing more," said Midgett. "So we figured that an event like this would be a nice way to show people different avenues that they could engage with art, [that] they can engage with writing."
