Over at Binghamton University, alumni veterans were honored for their service at "The Impact of a College Education and Military Service" discussion.

The veterans in attendance tonight also had the opportunity to give feedback on how the university can assist its veterans.

Director of Veterans and Military Service for the university Paul Stroud says tonight's events are critical for the university moving forward.

"If we're going to get better, what we're doing, if we're going to improve, and one of the things we need to get information and we need to get information directly from the source. So I can't think of a better way of getting information than really speaking directly to our veterans and ask them the question, what can we do better? How can we assist you better?," Stroud said. "I truly believe that we wouldn't be the country where we are. We wouldn't be here if it wasn't for our veterans. So it's a simple enough measure simply to say thank you."
