Broome County Residents Charged After Drugs, Gun Found in Vehicle During Stop

Vestal Police say two people from Broome County are charged after a traffic stop last week revealed drugs and a gun were found in the stopped vehicle.
Police say just before 2 a.m. on Friday, July 26th, a traffic stop was conducted on Vestal Road near the area of Sycamore Road. Probable cause was developed for a search of the vehicle after a K-9 assisted with the stop. Various kinds of pills, meth, cocaine, paraphernalia, and a .45-caliber handgun were all found in the vehicle.


The driver, Ben Combs of Johnson City and a passenger, Kaitlynn Molyneaux of Binghamton were both arrested and charged. Below is a list of charges for both:
- Criminal Possession of a Loaded Weapon in the 2nd degree
- 4 counts of Criminal Possession of Narcotics with Intent to Sell
- Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the 2nd degree
- Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the 2nd degree
- Criminal Possession of Methamphetamine
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Sell- Methamphetamine
Combs was additionally charged with three vehicle and traffic law violations.
