Some teammates and even Head Coach John Cornick was in attendance, Cornick acknowledging the impact the community had on the team and their success just over four decades ago.

"1972 we had 14,000 people at Union-Endicott's football stadium," said Cornick. "We had a fantastic situation with the guys were very unselfish and they worked together and that's why we were winners".

Strong Safety John Wood also says that the blend between talent and depth with this team was truly unmatched.

"Unbelievable talent, unbelievable depth," said Wood. "It was just a rare occurrence you're going to have that number of talent and that doesn't happen ever".
