Over in Endicott the 10U Little League Baseball State Tournament kicked off earlier today with their opening ceremony.

Union-Endicott will be hosting their fourth straight state tournament, the ceremony began at Logan Field introducing the eight teams that will be competing for a state title and a home-run derby shortly followed after.

The tournament is a double-elimination format, South Shore would win the last two years but will not be in this years tournament.

Tournament director Steve Wiseman says he looks forward to not only all the baseball this week, but the impact this tournament has on the Endicott Community.

"They come here and they're here for the week" said Wiseman. "It's good for our community to kind of get all these people from around the whole state and visit some of our local restaurants and bars and and all of the entertainment here."

The participating teams in this years tournament are Baldwinsville, Mid Island, New City, New Hartford, North Shore, Penfield, Port Washington, and Saugerties.

Games will begin on Monday and more details can be found here.
