The Delaware County Sheriff's Office says a Franklin man is facing a weapons charge after an investigation in late June.

According to the sheriff's office, on June 25th, deputies received information that firearms had been turned over from George N. Coulter to a third party for safe keeping. During the ensuing investigation, it was discovered that one of the firearms was a semi-automatic pistol and that Coulter did not have a valid NYS pistol permit.

All firearms were secured by deputies. Coulter was arrested and charged on July 3rd with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 4th degree. He was issued an appearance ticket and will appear in Franklin Town Court at a later date.
