The Chenango County Sheriff's Office says a Town of Oxford man is facing several charges after leading police on a chase following a failed traffic stop in the Town of Norwich.

According to the office, a deputy was in the area of North Plaza when he spotted a vehicle pass him. The deputy recognized the driver, Christopher Fuller, and knew he did not have a valid license. Fuller began driving in a reckless manner and a traffic stop was attempted, but Fuller did not comply.

Instead, he began to lead the deputy on a chase out of the Town of Norwich, into the City of Norwich, back into the Town of Norwich, and fled for several miles into the Town of North Norwich, until his vehicle became disabled. Fuller then abandoned the vehicle and took off on foot. The deputy continued to give chase on foot and caught and arrested Fuller.

Fuller was charged with the following:

  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled substance in the 3rd degree w/intent to sell
  • Reckless Endangerment in the 1st degree
  • Resisting Arrest
  • Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer
  • 2 counts of Criminal Using Drug Paraphernalia
  • Reckless Driving
  • Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the 2nd degree
  • Numerous moving violations
