For the second straight year, the Southern Tier Music Fest took place in Sidney.

Kicking off at 2 p.m., seven country music artists headlined by national recording artist Nate Smith performed for an energetic crowd, as concertgoers enjoyed offerings from several local food trucks and sponsoring breweries.

Emceeing the event was former voice contestant and performer Alyssa Crosby who expressed the importance of giving smaller local acts a platform.

"These musicians have worked hard for so many years, and it's such an inspiring thing to see them on a big stage like this opening for an amazing national act and just kind of showcasing their talent and their hard work to their community," Crosby said.

Organizers say the event welcomed between two to three thousand people today, exceeding last year's total.
