American Legion Post 82 teamed up with the American Red Cross to host the post's first-ever blood drive on Friday, June 14.

Around 40 people gave blood this afternoon, all going to the American Red Cross. Today's drive helped provide more exposure for American Legion Post 82 while also giving back to the Endicott community.

American Legion Post 82 and the American Red Cross are partnering up this summer for more events, including another blood drive in August.

"You get them down here into the Legion and you get people, you know, recognizing what we're about, which is community and and service people and things like that. And we're here to help the vets," Commander of American Legion Post 82 Henry Jaworski said. "Blood is always in short supply, and, you know, in my myself, if I hadn't given blood in a while, but it's definitely a good cause. There is hope for the community and everything."
