A Kirkwood man was found guilty on a weapons charge in Broome County Court.

According to the Broome County District Attorney, Justin Button was found guilty on the charge of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd degree. During a traffic stop in the City of Binghamton in March 2023, Button was in possession of a loaded .25-caliber handgun. The traffic stop was conducted by a Community Response Team that comprised of members from the Johnson City Police Department, Vestal Police Department, and State Police.

Button is scheduled for sentencing in September. He faces up to 15 years in state prison and five years of post-release supervision.
