For the final day of play at the John Patrick Leet Memorial Golf Tournament, a duos match was held to crown the overall winner.

Jason Gozney and Mike Surdey came out on top today, capping off the fundraiser which raised money for scholarships at SUNY Broome all weekend long.

But no matter if they were in first or last, Surdey says just getting to play with his best friend made it a tournament to remember.

"We love playing golf," Surdey said. "We have a great time, we compete, but at the end of the day, we're out here looking at the bigger picture. And when you step back from the competition, being for a good cause, it means a lot more at the end of the day. You know, we could have not won and still just been happy to come out here and compete for for a great event."

Organizers estimate the event yet again met its goal of raising over $10,000 for the scholarships.
