The Forum Theater in downtown Binghamton honors educator and musician Mike Carbone and his career by giving him a star on the theatre's Wall of Stars on Friday, June 7.

The Utica-native has been a guest conductor for Broome, Seneca, Ulster, and Tompkins county music educator festivals, while also an instructor for the New York State School of Music for the Arts at Binghamton University.

Carbone has also performed as a sideman for many famous musical acts including The Temptations, Jeff Stockham, and Al Marino. Earlier on Friday, June 7, Carbone's star was unveiled at the forum theatre where his name joins dozens of southern tier legends.

"This is at the top. You know, my my, my career accomplishments are my students and some of them gone on to be some amazing people, both in education," Carbone said. "Some of them are business owners are still performing. Some of them are out there performing all around the world. So this is just on par with all of that. And it's amazing."
