Redevelopment Proposals for 69 Collier Street Being Accepted
Proposals regarding the future of 69 Collier Street in downtown Binghamton are now being accepted.
69 Collier Street was the former site of the Collier Street parking ramp. Since 2016, it has served as a parking lot after the city demolished the five-story parking ramp. The ramp was opened in the 1960s, but was permanently closed due to structural concerns.
A formal request for proposals for redevelopment of the 0.8-acre parcel was issued Friday morning. Proposals include, but are not limited to the development of a mixed-use building that responds to housing and commercial demands, provides streetscape improvements and supports a walkable downtown business district, maximizes jobs and economic impact, and incorporates 21st century, sustainable building practices and smart growth principles.
Preferred proposals will have a proven ability to provide creative and inclusive land use and development strategies, increase the tax base, and create permanent job opportunities for residents.
All proposals are due by 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 2nd.
