A former Davenport Town Judge candidate has been sentenced to a month in jail after he was found guilty in January for Falsely Reporting an Incident to 911.

According to the Delaware County District Attorney, George Sydlar was sentenced to 30 days in jail Tuesday. The D.A. says Sydlar called 911 and reported that his neighbor had committed a crime, despite knowing the neighbor had not committed a crime. This occurred two dozen times after police told Sydlar that any dispute he had with his neighbor was civil, not criminal.

Sydlar showed no remorse and indicated he was not sorry for his behavior. The ADA requested Sydlar be given six months in jail, however, he was sentenced to 30 days and taken to the Delaware County Correctional Facility to serve his sentence.

At the time of his arrest, Sydlar was running for Davenport Town Judge, so the case was tried in the Town of Kortright.
