The New York State Boy's Basketball State Championships are returning to Binghamton in 2025.

By a vote of 12-10, the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Executive Committee voted Binghamton as the host of the 2025-2027 Boys Basketball State Championships. The Championships are currently hosted by Glens Falls which has hosted all but three years since 1981. The games will be played at Visions Veterans Memorial Arena.

The NYSPHSAA basketball committee recommended Glens Falls by an 8-3 margin whereas the NYSPHSAA staff recommendation was in favor of Binghamton.

According to the bid, Glens Falls' seating capacity surpassed the Arena's by a margin of 6,500 to 5,200 while Glens Falls also boasted more parking immediately close to the venue.

The pros to Binghamton, according to the bid, include nearby lodging (Holiday Inn Downtown Binghamton and DoubleTree by Hilton Binghamton) and section volunteerism. Binghamton is also closer in proximity to much of the Western half of the state compared to Glens Falls.

According to the bid, there will be zero additional dollars in facility cost and tournament costs thanks to donations from "various organizations".

The Arena previously played host to the Tournaments from 2017-2019. The only other place than the Glens Falls Civic Center and the Arena to host the Championships was Rochester's War Memorial from 1978-1980.

Broadview Center at the University at Albany also inserted a bid but received zero votes. Glens Falls will host this year's Championships.
