A Binghamton man is facing weapons charges after police responded to 5 Sturges Street last Friday afternoon for a report of gunfire.
When police arrived, there was no evidence a shooting had occurred and no injuries were reported, but they found Thomas Lewis, who was a person of interest regarding a weapons complaint that had occurred at 3 Sturges Street earlier in the week.
Police found an AK-47 assault rifle and two loaded magazines.
Lewis was arrested and charged with three counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd degree and one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd degree.
