The months of sanding, priming and painting paid off when roughly 40 students enrolled in Broome-Tioga BOCES auto body class finally saw the results of their labor.  

Students successfully refurbished three Owego Police Department vehicles, two Humvees and a rescue truck, that will now be put back into use.  

The Humvees arrived in October and the rescue vehicle in the spring. 

On Tuesday, May 23, 2023, Members of the Owego Police Department reclaimed the vehicles but not before thanking students with certificates of appreciation.   

The partnership is a win-win. Having BOCES students do the bodywork saves the department money and gives students valuable experience.
