A Binghamton man faces up to seven years in prison after pleading guilty to Attempted Assault in the first degree.

According to the Broome County District Attorney's Office, 26-year-old DeJoghn B. Llamas admitted that on October 20, 2023, he cut a 61-year-old female with a knife during an argument, which caused injury.

The office notes that Police had responded to an altercation at a residence on Leroy Street in the City of Binghamton. Llamas had slashed the victim in the face with a knife, causing a severe laceration.

When Llamas is sentenced on August 15, 2023, he faces up to seven years in New York State prison followed by a period of post release supervision.

“Though Mr. Llamas has no prior criminal history, those who commit acts of violence must be held accountable,” said Michael A. Korchak Broome County District Attorney.
