The Binghamton Police Department says a body was recovered from the Susquehanna River late last week.

According to Detective Matt Hodnik, the call came in around 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 11th for a body in the water in the area of 2 Pennsylvania Avenue.

Hodnik said the body was that of an adult female, but at this point, they are not releasing her name, where she is from, or how long she may have been in the water.

The cause of death is still being investigated, but Hodnik did say that at this time, it does not appear to be criminal in nature.
