The BU Baseball team is finally home, the Bearcats begin their home-opening series Friday.

The Bearcats are 5-7 thus far and take on Lafayette for a three-game series this weekend ending with a Saturday doubleheader.

Here's coach Tim Sinicki on how the guys are feeling about coming home and playing in front of a friendly crowd for the first time this season.

"It's a day that guys have been looking forward to really for quite a while now," Sinicki said. "You know, we don't mind being on the road and we know it's one of the necessary evils of playing baseball in the northeast to go down south and play for a few weekends but it's great. We have this facility that allows us to have a field that's ready. And despite the weather that we had this past week, we're ready to go tomorrow for the home opener and I know everyone in the program is really excited and looking forward to it."

The Bearcats are also approaching conference play as the America East season looms.

"We are where we need to be right now," Sinicki said. "I think one more weekend of nonconference games will really help us out. Midweek against Penn State next week and then conference opener next weekend. I think we'll be in a position to put out the team that's going to make us the best version of ourselves."

First pitch is scheduled for 3 pm tomorrow at the Bearcat Baseball Complex. BU will play five-straight home weekend series through Mid-April.

We'll have highlights Friday night at 10!
