The Binghamton University women's basketball team woke up yesterday at 2-0 with a battle against Syracuse ahead.

At the JMA Dome, the Bearcats fell 92-59 to drop to 2-1 on the young season. BU trailed 25 at half, but kept the second half closer, getting outscored by just eight in the final two frames. Ella Wanzer lead the way with 12, making four three-pointers while Megan Casey added 11. BU shot just 31 percent from the field.

Binghamton is back at it Wednesday night at home as they host Pitt-Johnstown as Jadyn Weltz is coming off America East Rookie of the Week for the first two games of the season. The redshirt freshman made her debut against Bloomsburg and showed out against Army. Against the Huskies, Weltz scored ten points along with four assists and six rebounds. Then in game two against the Black Knights, Weltz went four-for-five from the field and five-for-six from the line to put up 15 points. The point guard also dished out six assists in the win.
