The Vestal Golden Bears traveled to Long Island for the State Final Four this weekend, emerging victorious for the first time in program history.

They defeated Section VI's Iroquois with a 6-0 shutout in the semifinals, and were able to edge out the Garden City Trojans of Section VIII, with a 2-1 win in the championship.

The team making the long drive back to Vestal high school, arriving tonight to a mob of family, friends, and even pets -- both the players and head Coach Vicki Sax, were more than ecstatic, as they reflect on what its like to be a part of golden bear history.
