The Waverly Wolverines are atop Section IV for the first time since 2015 as they hand Chenango Forks their first Sectional Chip loss since 1998 with a 28-14 final.

Lucas Bartlow and the Devils got the game started with a two-yard touchdown run late in the first quarter. It didn't take long for the Wolverines to respond as Joey Tomasso and Jay Pipher hooked up for a 45-yard touchdown pass to tie it up. Still in the second quarter and Grady Stark took in a QB keeper to regain the lead for Forks.

Tomasso took one out of Stark's playbook and took a QB run in for six to tie the game at 14 apiece at half.

After a Forks' drive stalled early in the third quarter, Tomasso once again used his feet and scampered for 61 yards to make it 21-14 with plenty of time left.

Stop me if you've heard this before, Joey Tomasso takes a long run in for six, this time 45 yards to paydirt and the Wolverines led 28-14 midway through the third quarter.

Waverly held out Forks and snapped the Blue Devils' 18-game championship game-winning streak. The Wolverines will take on either Holland-Patent or General Brown of Section III at Cicero-North Syracuse on Saturday, November 19th at 12 pm.
