The annual Catholic Charities Turkey Drive begins next week.

From Monday, November 14th to Friday, November 18th Catholic Charities is coordinating Thanksgiving dinner donations at the Town Square Plaza Walmart.

The drive runs from 8:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. each day.

So far, they have had 3,500 families sign up compared to 2,500 last year.

Executive Director of Broome County Catholic Charities Lori Accardi says this is the time of year to help those less fortunate.

"We know that the need is out there in a way we have not seen before and at Thanksgiving it's a special time to come together and really show and express our gratitude for what you've been given in life and giving back to others," she said.

There are other ways to help the organization out.

"We are encouraging people who want to donate to go out and get the turkeys as soon as possible and/or to consider donating gift certificates this year instead. If you'd like to do that, that is also very helpful and it's a little bit easier to lift those gift certificates."

It's not just turkeys; people can donate any of the Thanksgiving meal fixings.

You can also donate curbside at Catholic Charities, send a check, donate through their website or text Turkey Love BC to 50155.

iHeart Media to promote the event.
