County Executive Jason Garnar presented his annual budget proposal Wednesday evening at the former Endicott-Johnson Victory Building in Johnson City, the first in-person address in 2 years.

A list of the plans included in the budget address include enhancing services for our veterans, strengthening substance use disorder and mental health programs, prioritization of economic development, new housing projects, and improving a record number of roads and bridges.

One of the highlighted topics of the night was the largest parks improvement plans to date, which plan to add new facilities to local parks as well as improving on current facilities and equipment.

Garnar stated " There is always more work to be done, but I wouldn't be able to do any of this without the help Senator Fred Akshar and Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo as well as the many of the Local leaders throughout the community that are committed to improving our home, Broome County."

Some improvements have already started this year, with many more scheduled to take place throughout the entirety of next year.
