High school students interested in law enforcement will have the opportunity to learn more about it in a program returning to Delaware County.

The Delaware County Sheriff's Office says the Law Enforcement Explorer's Program, which ended in 2009 following the passing of Sergeant Thomas Avery, is making a comeback.

The program gives students who are interested in law enforcement the opportunity to work with and learn from sheriff's office members.

This program is for high school students aged 14 to 18. Students will have the chance to learn about such topics as crime scene techniques, traffic stops, court procedures, and investigations.

Other aspects of the program include listening to guest speakers, ride-alongs, and other hands-on activities.

Students interested in learning more about the program or joining can contact Deputy Collin Roche at [email protected] or by calling 607-237-1641.
