Endwell, N.Y. - On Saturday Maine-Endwell will look to reclaim the Section IV Class B title from Chenango Forks. 2014 was the last time the Spartans were the king of Class B and since then, Chenango Forks has come out as the Section IV Class B champions for the last two years. In fact, the last time the Blue Devils lost a Section IV game was back in 2015 to the Spartans.

However, we got a little bit of a preview on what to expect this weekend, two weeks ago, when the two programs went head to head with undefeated records for the last week of the regular season. Although that game was pretty meaningless, this game on Saturday is not. The Blue Devils came out with the 24-14 victory over the Spartans on Saturday, October 20th.

The Spartans offense struggled a little bit in the second half, causing turnovers and penalties that eventually led to not being able to score a single point in the 3rd or 4th quarter.

"The key will be ball security. We're gonna have a penalty here and there, but we can't have turn overs or fumbles. If we can limit those, I really think we'll be in good shape" said Spartans head coach, Matt Gallagher.

"We were there in the first half, we just missed a couple of tackles. But, we need to make sure we play an entire 60 minutes and don't let up in the second half, like we did."

Senior captain, AJ Desantis was in the middle of recovering from an MCL sprain from the prior week when the Spartans fell to the Blue Devils. However, the offensive guard is back at 100 percent and ready to play a full 60 minutes of football on both sides of the ball.

"I'm feeling really great right now. I feel 100 percent. I know I can run, jump and all of that. I'm a big body in the middle so I feel like I can make an impact on the game" said AJ Desantis.

Maine-Endwell and Chenango Forks play Saturday, November 3 at Ty Cobb Stadium at 3 p.m.
