Devin R. Negrete joined FOX 40 as our 10 p.m. News Anchor in July 2018. She comes to us from Denver, Colorado where she was a Public Relations Specialist. After spending time in the PR world she realized news is where her heart is and wanted to continue telling your stories. Before switching gears, she spent time at WSAV News 3 in Savannah, Georgia as the 10 p.m. & 11 p.m. multimedia journalist where she covered stories from breaking news to crime and city/county issues. She also covered the wrath and devastation of Hurricane Matthew in October 2016. However, her first gig in the industry started in January 2015 at KQTV in St. Joseph, Missouri as Weekend Anchor/Reporter. While at KQ2, she covered a variety of stories from live breaking news to human interest pieces. She also traveled to Kansas City, Missouri to lead her station’s coverage of the 2015 World Series Championship homecoming parade of the Kansas City Royals
Devin graduated from the University of Central Missouri (UCM) in 2014 where she earned her B.S. in Digital Media Production.
Outside the classroom, Devin took advantage of all sorts of opportunities to learn her craft. She was a sports intern at KMBC 9 News in Kansas City, a host on KMOS-TV’s UCM Sportspage, a sideline reporter and announcer for a variety of sports, anchored and reported for the school television news and wrote for her college newspaper.
Obviously, Devin has a love for athletics and loves to cheer on the UCM Mules & Jennies, Oklahoma Sooners, Kansas City Royals and Kansas City Chiefs. Her free time is spent in the gym, exploring different cities, reading, eating as much food as possible, being surrounded by her family and friends and snuggling the love of her life her Jack Russell Terrier, Sophie.
