All season long, Susquehanna Valley's (SV) head coach Chad Freije preached comradery and friendship to his Lady Sabers. Sunday, SV entered the Class B Federation Tournament Championship as one family...and left as perfection.

Game after game the wins began to stack up like a gleaming star on the horizon, almost within reach. Winning a STAC and NY State Championship while undefeated, the Sabers knew their season wasn't over until "We finish with a perfect record," said Alexis Drake.

During the Championship matchup against the Aquinas Lady Bears of Bronx, NY, the Sabers played as a single unit. Forcing the Bears to commit 20 turnovers, SV collected themselves to shoot 48% from the field and dominated the court for the 72-28 victory, and earned the record of 26-0.

Standing out again on the hardwood was Trinasia Kennedy. Leading her team with a game-high 18 points, she was able to hoist another piece of hardware, the Federation Tournament MVP. Not to be outshined by their teammate Trinasia, Alexis Drake and Holly Manchester both added 16 points in win.

From working the perimeter, powering in the paint to dominating on defense, it's safe to assume that the 2017-18 Susquehanna Valley Sabers have earned the respect and acknowledgment of all sports fans. They will truly be forever known as the "Perfect Champions."

Congratulations Susquehanna Valley Sabers, from all of us here at Fox 40.
