DWI Crackdowns Set to Begin

Starting Friday you can expect more DWI patrols and checkpoints through the new year.
From December 18th through January 3rd a number of police agencies throughout Broome County will take part in the holiday season DWI crackdown. police are spreading the message to stay off the roads if you plan on drinking. you can call a cab or have a designated driver.
"There are still a lot of people out there who don't realize the consequences of how much it will cost you for lawyers fees, fines, and so many other variables such as ignition interlock devices. But they're not understanding what the true consequence is, that they migh kill someone," said Lt. Ben Harting of the Broome County Sheriff's Office.
