Hundreds are celebrating Pride month right here in the city of Binghamton.

Saturday the Binghamton Pride Coalition held their 11th annual Pride Palooza on Court Street. More than 500 people came out to enjoy a day of festivities including live music, street vendors, face painting, drag performances and games.

Those involved say today's festivities are about having fun and celebrating cultural acceptance.

"In a sense it's a celebration of a victory, of being accepted, of being able to share our happiness and our creativity and all that we contribute to society, as a whole, and to the local Binghamton community," said Owner of Merlin's Dance Club Lauren Hering.

The organization will hold an Adult Pride Picnic on Saturday, June 20th at Chenango Valley State Park.
