Friends, family and members of the Cortland community took Monday night to honor and remember a beloved cortland teen.


Sixteen year old Aime Leland was allegedly murdered by her ex-boyfriend Michael Hammond earlier this month.


Over 100 people gathered at Sugget Park in Cortland to share their stories and memories of Aime.


Family and friends say she was a kind, positive person who was a good friend to many.


"A very loving person. She was a beautiful young lady--she loved everybody and everybody loved her apparently."


"It's really amazing to see how many people support and love Aime and it's a really great feeling because everyone's here to support each other and we're just here to give each other love and the best support we can."


Along with sharing , memories, those in attendance released balloons and held a candlelight vigil.
