Thursday was a day of remembrance for the Johnson City Police Department which unveiled it's new fallen officers memorial.

The solid granite monument displayed the end of watch dates for Patrolman Harold Huff who gave his life in 1925 and Patrolman D.W. Smith who made the ultimate sacrifice last March when responding to a disturbance call on Harrison Street.

The monument also displays the Police Officer's Prayer and a flower planter that D.W.'s son Andrew will take care of. The department also recognized and awarded their officers who went above and beyond the call of duty.
