With accusations of violations of election law preceding the election, voters will head to the polls in the Village of Owego Wednesday.

Three trustee positions are on the ballot in the village Wednesday.

Lisa Curatolo, said, Robin Manville, and Ann Lockwood are running on the "A positive change party line."

Phoebe Shafer-Morris, Jacque Millar, and jenny cecch-erelli are running on the "Rebuild Owego" party line. There was controversy last week when a group called the village public safety committee sent out a flier regarding options for police coverage in the village. Mayor Kevin Millar says that the options and numbers listed on the flyer did not receive the necessary approval from the village board prior to being sent out. Millar calls the survey a campaign piece designed to improperly influence the election and says it might violate New York State Election Law.

Public Safety Committee Member and Trustee Candidate Ann Lockwood she was not aware the board's authorization was required. Another election Wednesday will be for Mayor of Whitney Point. Incumbent David Downs is not running. Trustees Ryan Reynolds and Jason Somers are running to replace him.
