A vacation company which held seminars in a number of New York cities, including Binghamton, is paying up after charges of deceiving customers into thinking they won free airfare and lodging.

Vacation Tours USA must cease deceptive practices, pay restitution, and a $22,500 fine after a settlement with the New York State Attorney General's office. The Attorney General's office says the company sent letters to people saying they had won a vacation package. But after calling a phone number they were told they needed to attend a seminar, which turned into a sales pitch - and that there were no free plane tickets or lodging. You can call 1-800-771-7755 if you feel you fell victim to this scam.
