UHS Junior Culinary Academy Cooks Healthy, Homemade Meal

Posted: Updated:

Tonight was the UHS Junior Culinary Academy from 6:30-8pm at the Farmers Market Kitchen.

Area kids made homemade lasagna, brownies, and salad dressing.

The program aims to get children in the kitchen and cooking healthy foods.

"So the program the basis is teaching kids basic culinary skills to help them help their parents make dinners, lunches. Bring families together and teach skills that have become somewhat lost in families," said Jaclyn Zindell, a UHS clinical nutrition coordinator.

A UHS Chef teaches the classes. This evening was the last one for this session, but more will begin later this year.
