Vestal's Davey to continue athletic career at Division I Lehigh

Posted: Updated:

Vestal senior Simone Davey inked her name today to run Cross-Country and Track & Field at Division I Lehigh next year.

"I toured a ridiculous amount of colleges, and I had never actually had that feeling of when you step on campus, and I was convinced I wasn't gonna have it. As soon as I stepped on the campus I knew it was my next home, and I wanted to go there ever since that day."

Davey is a five-year veteran for the Golden Bears, where she joined the varsity cross-country and track & field teams as an eighth-grader. In her time at Vestal, Davey has been state-qualifier a total of 10 times, between cross-country and indoor/outdoor track.

"I'm honestly so grateful for my friends and my family, I wouldn't be here without all of them. I cannot thank them enough for all their constant support, and I'm so honored that they all came out here today." Says Davey

Davey will become a Mountain Hawk next year at Lehigh, where she will major in both Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
