Coleman Commits to Play Soccer for SyracusePosted: Updated:
Maine-Endwell Senior Jack Coleman signed his National Letter of Intent today to play soccer for Syracuse University. The list of accolades for Coleman on the soccer pitch is extensive. Coleman is a 5-time All-Conference player, his last 3 being with Maine-Endwell and first 2 coming when he was at Newark Valley. He's a 2-Time State Cup Champion, a 2-time New York State Player of the Week and was on the pre-season All-American Watch list. His junior year he lead Section 4 in scoring with 26 goals in 17 games. This season he played in only 11 games due to injury but had the 5th highest goals per game average in the state netting 2 game. Coleman says it's a dream come true getting to play for the Orange.
"Syracuse was my dream school from day one," says Coleman. "I've always wanted to go there and I applied myself and always told myself I could do it.I had a lot of support, a lot of people telling me I could do it, a lot of people believing in me even when I didn't believe in myself. That came a long a way. I went on a few college visits and as soon as I went to Syracuse I knew it was the place for me to be."
Off the field Coleman takes part in Students Against Destructive Decisions Club, his church youth group and helps teach Maine-Endwell's youth soccer players. He will be majoring in either business or sports management.
