Legal Clinic Assists Local Veterans

Posted: Updated:
BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -

Private attorneys from around the area donated their time to help veterans with legal consultations at the Broome County Public Library on Saturday morning.

Shane Armstrong and Kathryn Donnelly, Co-Chairs of Veterans Legal Clinic, organized the event on behalf of the Broome County Bar Foundation for the second year to help veterans with different areas of law such as wills, trusts, Medicaid planning, and Powers of Attorney/Health Care Proxies.

Veterans called ahead to register with their matters so they could be placed with an attorney who would benefit them the most.

"I'm grateful that we have so many attorneys that were willing to donate their time today to speak with the veterans today and answer some of their questions and concerns," said Armstrong.

Twin Tiers Honor Flight, Binghamton Veterans Center, and New York State Division of Veterans Affairs were available to provide additional resources to veterans.
